Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
"Mrs Lincoln could scarcely stroll down Pennsylvania Avenue without reporters setting telegraph lines abuzz with the news, so when she and her cousin Mrs. Grimsley traveled to New York on a shopping expedition in early May, newspapermen hounded their every step." (Sounds like Alex Baldwin wasn't the first to be hounded by paparazzi.) I'm reading this on my Nook, it says this is page 56.
Sounds fascinating. A book I'd love to read!
ReplyDeleteI do like the sound of this one...and you look cozy in your reading corner!

This sounds like a book I'd enjoy. Historical fiction brings history alive!
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying the new look of your blog, and the little photos of you reading. :)
LOL at your Alec Baldwin comment.
ReplyDeleteGood teaser--I'm glad you are enjoying it. My teaser: Who Do, Voodoo?

ReplyDeleteSounds like a good one!
ReplyDeleteExcellent teaser! I've been curious about this one -- sounds like something I'd enjoy, too. Strange to think of the First Lady strolling down Pennsylvania Avenue, though -- I doubt that Michelle does that very often.
