"Musing Mondays"

This week Miz B at Should Be Reading musing asks…
When you walk into a bookstore — any bookstore — what’s the first section you head toward (what draws you)?
I usually head for the new releases, (preference's in paperback.) After I check out the new releases, I head for the sales tables.
I'm really not drawn to any particular section, I always carry a list of books that I'm interested in.  And I usually go the customer service and ask someone to help me find the books.  I have to admit, unless the books almost jump off the shelves, I have trouble finding the books I want. I've learned I save time by just asking for help right away.

I have to admit, since I got my NookColor, and my Kindle, in January 2012, I do my book shopping from my easy chair on them. But.....
My favorite bookstore is Barnes & Noble, what is your favorite bookstore?

  5. Barnes and Noble are the only big bookstores around here, so that's where I head. There may be a new used books store that recently opened up, but I get my used books from library sales.

  6. New Releases and Mystery for sure. I like having in my mind what I have seen around the blogosphere vs what they choose to present.

Love my Kindle and so don't go in bookstores really but when I do, I always walk out with one at least.

  7. Hi Gigi Ann,

We have a really good local independent bookstore in the town where I live, although it is quite small and their stock is limited, unless you know what you want so they can order it in.

If I just want to browse and make an impulse purchase, then I generall wait until we visit family in a larger town, once a month, where there is a Waterstones.

To be honest, most of my books come from the bookshelves of charity shops, or are ordered via my kindle.

I very seldom go for new releases, but that doesn't really bother me too much.

    Have a great week.

    Yvonne

  9. I also love Barnes & Noble, and I also ask for help, more often than not, to find whatever book(s) I'm looking for. My favorite online bookstore is Amazon, of course!

  15. Barnes & Noble is the bookstore I go to, also, but I haven't been there in a while. I have a Kindle now, too, and get books from Amazon's website. I do miss walking through a bookstore and looking at the books on the shelves, though.

  17. I have visited almost all the bookstores in my town and love most of them. I love going to a book store.

Kindle, no matter how convenient it is, can't give a feel of a book store. Books stacked together, scent of fresh paper and ink, the feel of taking a book in your hand and flipping through the pages...
