"Booking Through Thursday" "Theme Thursdays" Memes

btt button
What’s the first book that you ever read more than once? (I’m assuming there’s at least one.)
What book have you read the most times? And–how many?
I hardly ever read a book over, I have to many books waiting on my bookshelves crying out "Read me, read me." However, the one book I can remember reading over was Nicholas Sparks' book "Nights In Rodanthe." The reason I re-read the book was because, when the movie based on the book was released, I decided to read the book again to refresh my mind, before viewing the movie. If possible, I like to read a book before viewing the movie.
Do you ever re-read book?

Theme Thursdays [Smile] – 21Jul11

Reading Between PagesTheme Thursdays
Theme Thursdays is a fun weekly event hosted by that will be open from one thursday to the next. Anyone can participate in it. The rules are simple:
  • A theme will be posted each week (on Thursday’s)
  • Select a conversation/snippet/sentence from the current book you are reading
  • Mention the author and the title of the book along with your post
  • It is important that the theme is conveyed in the sentence (you don’t necessarily need to have the word)
Ex: If the theme is KISS; your sentence can have “They kissed so gently” or “Their lips touched each other” or “The smooch was so passionate”
This will give us a wonderful opportunity to explore and understand different writing styles and descriptive approaches adopted by authors.
This week’s theme is

SMILE (Laugh, Grin, Giggle, Guffaw, etc)

This week I am reading 'True Colors," by Kristin Hannah.

"What's her name?"
"Her real name was Laughs Like the Wind. Her husband called her Mary. She's dead now."
"And your dad?"
"Alive."  page 157.

  1. I loved that Kristin Hannah book! In fact, I've enjoyed all of her books that I've read.

Your first post (Bookin') reminded me that I reread Little Women as a kid. More than once.

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

  2. I too prefer to read the book before seeing the movie. Kristin Hannah is an author I am wanting to read but haven't had the chance to yet.

    Here's my BTT.

  5. Hi Ann,

I'm placing you on my "Book-Lovers" sidebar-list on Scan Lit. Would you mind adding me to yours to give me a little boost.

    Thank you, my dear!

  6. I don't usually re-read a book, there are too many others to get to.

  7. I really like that! It is definitely descriptive of the character, but not what I would have expected for the theme this week. Awesome choice!

  8. I'm not a big re-reader of books either. Some classics, but that's it!

  9. I do reread books if it has been awhile before I see the movie. I'm normally disappointed with the movie and prefer the book.
