"Dancing With The Sun"

After listening to the last book, I enjoyed it enough that I decided to listen to this book also.

"Dancing With The Sun"

From the bestselling author of Wish Me Home comes a heart-racing tale of resilience and hope.

When Sadie Harlan visits her daughter, Lauren, at her summer internship in Yosemite National Park, it seems like the perfect way to forget about her empty nest and failing marriage back home. But when the two women get lost on what’s meant to be a short hike, they suddenly find themselves fighting for their lives.

As they search for food, water, and civilization, they battle injury, exhaustion, and natural predators. Sadie, however, is assaulted by more than just the unforgiving elements. She lost her first child years earlier in a tragic accident, and in her sorrow, she’s pushed everyone away—including her husband. Now, Sadie must face her past through a journey of love, loss, and learning to forgive herself if she and Lauren are to stand a chance at getting out of Yosemite alive. Will a mother’s courage be enough to save them both?

My Thoughts...

I really think I enjoyed this book much more by listening to it. I felt like I was living in the 50s again. It was like listening to an old time radio show. So much excitement and tension going on in the storyline, I think just reading it I may have lost interest, but listening to the story got me involved from the first sentence.  Now back to My Reading Corner.

  1. I like listening to books. I realise I'm not a good reader of fiction. I had too many years of reading reports & scanning & skimming, hard habits to break. E-audio books are great, they don't miss anything out.
I've found that most of the readers have great voices & make the story seem more real especially if they use different accents for the characters. Currently I'm reading books fromthe Hamish Macbeth series set in the Scottish Highlands. They are very different to the wonderful TV series from a few years ago but I'm enjoying them & the wonderful Scottish accents. So funny & occasionally difficult to understand.
    Happy reading Ann!
It's not hard on the eyes & you can do something else while you're listening.

    1. Thank you, Winifred. I just recently, (this week) started to listen to audio books. I have another one to listen to probably next week, but today I started reading a hardback book that the author, Laura Childs, gifted me a month or two ago. It is a cozy mystery set in New Orleans, Louisiana. She always sends me some of her books even though I no longer post reviews. I guess once I was on her mailing list she just never took me off. I really don't mind I love getting a surprise book in the mail.

      Happy Reading to you also.
