Do we really want to know more about this wealthy, proud, disagreeable man? What if we could learn some things about him that “Pride and Prejudice” didn’t reveal to us? Things like: how did Darcy feel after convincing Bingley that Jane Bennet didn’t care for him? how did he find and then make George Wickham marry Lydia Bennet? but most of all, how did Darcy become the man Lizzy Bennet would be proud to call her husband? How did Mr Darcy fall in love?
“Mr Darcy falls in love” is the mirror image of Pride and Prejudice, the very same love story of Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy, this time told from HIS point of view. After reading this story, you will definitely know more about this man who is transformed by the power of love.
My Thoughts....
I recently found this book on Goodreads when the author brought it to my attention. I love many of the sequels of the Jane Austen books. Since P & P is one of my favorite books by Jane Austen, and when I noticed the title of this book I knew I just had to have it to read. I found that it was a worthy companion to the original book P & P. It will have a special place on my Kindle bookshelf.
I think you will only enjoy the book if you are a Jane Austen fan and have read the book P & P or at least have seen the movie. I personally have seen the different movies several times. The T.V. adaptions of P & P I have enjoyed as well.
I enjoyed reading about the characters from Pride and Prejudice again. It is like visiting old friends again. If you are a fan of Jane Austen, and like me don't really want to re-read the novel over again, this is a fun book to read from Darcy's point of view. It was nice to visit the Darcys, Bennets, aunts. uncles and the people in the neighborhood again.
This book is a part of my Kindle library, and I enjoyed it enough to award it 4 'falling in love' stars.
Gigi Ann, this does sound like a fun Darcy book. Wonderful review!
