"Musing Mondays"

MizB's Musing Mondays asks you to muse about one of the following each week…
• Describe one of your reading habits.
• Tell us what book(s) you recently bought for yourself or someone else, and why you chose that/those book(s).
• Tell us what you’re reading right now — what you think of it, so far; why you chose it; what you are (or, aren’t) enjoying it.
This week I am going to "Describe one of my reading habits." When I start reading a new book, I always turn to the last page to check how many pages is in the book. Thereafter, I try to read between 50-100 pages of the book each day. The reason for this, I have an idea how long it will take me to complete the book.
What are your reading idiosyncrasies?

  4. I do the same thing...probably because I try to allocate my time with books, too. I especially want to know how many pages are in an e-book, and if it's not a book with "pages," I look it up online.

  5. My e-reader has the page count at the bottom of the screen so I can keep track of my progress. I don't think I've ever tried to figure out how long it would take me to read a book.

  6. That is a good approach! I should be more organized and goal oriented with my own reading.

  7. That's a good habit but I think if I look to the end of a book, I won't be able to resist reading the final lines. Since starting up my book blog, I always use 'post its' in my books to highlight passages or remember things I want to share in my review. I tend to read more than one book at a time and its easy to mix up storylines sometimes.
