This week MizBs musing asks…
What is the most recent book you purchased, or brought home from the local library? What made you pick it? Have you started reading it, right away, or will you wait for a bit?
The most recent book I brought home from the local library was in July 2012. That book was...a book by Debbie Macomber "92 Pacific Boulevard" it is one of the books in her Cedar Cove Series. There were 12 books in the series. I read the first few books and was enjoying this series. I decided to wait until most of them were written before I started reading them. I read a few out of order, but they do more or less stand on their own so no problem there. However, I like reading them back-to-back in the order they were written. I had a few of the books in the series on my TBR pile for a few years. So this summer (from July 13-August 24, 2012) I decided it was time to read all the books in the series back-to-back, and since I didn't want to buy all of them, I borrowed whatever I didn't have on my bookshelf in the series from my local library.
My Thoughts...about 92 Pacific Boulevard...
I have to agree, I find this Cedar Cove series delicious and addictive also. I really liked this book in this series, I think I liked it more than all the 10 others in this series I've read already. It was right up my alley. It had a couple of mysteries intertwine throughout the story, light romance, and was just a delightful and charming book to read. I read
it from beginning to ending in about 10 hours, broken up into parts of two days. I liked it so much I awarded it 5*****
What have you bought or borrowed lately?
Smart to get series books from the library!
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love our library (and public and private libraries in general), I have not taken out a book from the library in at least a year! Why? Because I have overflowing bookshelves!
They look fun!

Before blogging, I was at our local library so often that they were thinking of charging me rent lol. However, since, I haven't been. Steve, especially because he isn't a reader, just shakes his head when another book is delivered either USPS or UPS. Is Tony a reader?
ReplyDeleteHave a great week?
i have read a few of Macomber's..but there is just so much time in the day! lol
ReplyDeleteSince I got my Nook I don't go to the library as often. That's sad, I love the library.
ReplyDeleteI read a few of the Cedar Cove books, but not this one yet....thanks for reminding me that I need to get back to it!
