Booking Through Thursday

Have you ever used a book to instruct someone of something or is there anyone for whom you would like to do that? (No textbooks, but fiction or non-fiction that would get a certain message across either through plot or character.) What is the book and what dou you wish to impart?

This question I really had to think about. No I've never used a novel or non-fiction book to get a message across to anyone. However, I just finished reading a book yesterday that had what I thought was a good message for anyone. It is this book by Ruth Ann Nordin.

A homely woman who fears she will never marry becomes a mail-order bride. The man she comes for rejects her but another offers her marriage. She accepts, not believing love will result from the union. Love, after all, is for beautiful
women. Isn't it?

My Thoughts...
Mary was as plain as her name, and a character I think most women can relate to. It was nice to read a down-to-earth story, and I could really feel for Mary. Her story made me laugh and cry. The story draws you in from the very beginning. It was a heartwarming and delightful story. It helps us to see that inner-beauty is so much more important than outer beauty. I have yet to be disappointed by this author, Ruth Ann Nordin. In the sequel "To Have and to Hold" Mary's journey continues...

I enjoyed reading this book and awarded it 4****

  1. Nice review, the book does sound good. I wonder if this is the same Ruth Ann Nordin whose books I used to read. When I first started my book blog she was one of the first author interview/reviews I did.
