"Characters or Plot?"

btt button
What’s more important to you? Real, three-dimensional, fleshed-out fascinating characters? Or an amazing, page-turning plot?
(Yes, I know, they are both important. But if you had to pick one as being more important than the other?
Today, I think my choice is.........an amazing, page-turning plot.  Why do I say that? Well, I am reading a book this week that has some fascinating characters, but, it does not have a very strong plot, therefore, it is not an amazing page-turning plot. It is a fun book, a bit whimsical, and I am enjoying it,  but for me it is not a page-turner.

How about you, which do you prefer?

  5. Of course, I love it when both the plot and characters are fascinating. But I mainly look for a strong plot to keep me reading.

  9. I think both are important, but definitely a page-turning plot helps the most to keep my interest!

  11. Thats a good question. I do like both a strong plot and great characters as well. I think I'd prefer a good plot though. Sometimes I don't like the characters but keep reading because the plot is good.
