Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week I am enjoying reading "4:50 From Paddington," by Agatha Christie. I am also reading this mystery for my "Vintage Mystery Reading Challenge." I always learn so many new words when I read one of Ms. Christie's books.
"The powers that be! All the silly pettifogging rules and regulations that hamper us all nowadays. The interesting thing is there's always a way round them if you're smart enough to find it. And you're smart. Come now, does the idea appeal to you?"

I have only read one Agatha Christie book and I wasn't smart enough to know who did it! But that is the best kind of mystery!

I used to read alot of Agatha Christie and enjoyed it. Nice teaser!
ReplyDeletePettifogging - had to look up that one! I haven't read Agatha Christie in years, but your teaser made me wonder if it isn't time to dust off her books.
ReplyDeleteHere's my teaser: Sandy's Teaser
Great teaser! Almost sounds like Dickens more than Christie. This is one I haven't read, but it's definitely on my TBR list.
