My Thoughts: This one is about Kevin O’Brien. He returned brokenhearted to Chesapeake Shores with his infant son, Davy. It has been 13 months since his wife has died, and Kevin’s large family is beginning to urge him to move on with his life. He is struggling to just get out of bed each day, After Gram's had a talk with him, she told him to take it one day at a time, and go to town each day and get out among the people. He does just that and the first day he meets Shanna Carlyle.
Shanna is getting ready to open a book store on Main Street to start a new life for herself, after her divorce from her alcoholic husband. Her big regret is that she was forced to leave her step son, Henry behind. When Shanna meets Kevin and his son, she is immediately attracted to them. But will Kevin and Shanna be able to fight their many issues, and learn to trust each other?
Sherryl Woods once again gives us a glimpse at the O’Brien family of Chesapeake Shores. "Harbor Lights" features the romance of Kevin and Shanna. However, we are also read further details about Megan, the Mom and Mick, the Dad O’Brien, which in my opinion, their relationship should have been settled in at least book two, I got tired of their long drawn out 'should we remarry after being separated for 15 years, or get to know each other better?' It was annoying to say the least. Another thing, if this was "THE END" of the series all together, I am a little disappointed, it left a lot of unfinished loose ends. I suppose that is where I'm suppose to use my imagination! If that is the case, I will just say, "everyone lived happily ever after," isn't that the way fairy tales end?
I gave the book 3*** it was an OK read.
I own this book.
Sometimes don't you wish you could just tell these whiny, annoying characters to suck it up and get on with it.
ReplyDeleteKaye...LOL, my thoughts completely...
ReplyDeleteI think that I would probably get annoyed with the Mom and Dad, too!
