Will and Guy's Joke.
Funny Things Found in Returned Books: by Librarian Jan Bild
The Guardian newspaper is to be thanked for bringing this article to our attention having interviewed former librarian, Jan Bild, in Worthing after a 30 year career working in libraries.
The following strange articles were found in the books returned to the library:
* A rasher of uncooked bacon [presumably a book mark]
* A £10 note
* A shoelace
* One large feather
* A bag of hashish in a hole gouged in the book's centre pages
* A Pension book
* Love letters to Edith
* Vomit [sorry]
* Photos
* Page where every letter 'O' had been coloured in
* Bank statements
* Spaghetti
Too funny. The person who colored in the Os must have a lot of time on his/her hands. We found a 4 leaf clover wrapped in saran wrap in a book my son picked out at the used bookstore.
ReplyDeleteI used to buy old books and some would have notes in them and some would have names with old dates like 1913 in one.
ReplyDeleteVery nice captures, love the sundog shot, too! WoW! =)
ReplyDeleteWow what interesting finds. I wouldn't mind finding some money but I could definitely give the old food & the vomit a miss!
ReplyDeletevomit?! ewwwww!
