"Bad Dogs Have More Fun"

Oh my! Here it is October 5th, and I haven't finished reading my book of choice for September yet. My excuse, I was not feeling well for a week, had a cold, and every time I picked up the book and started to read, I fell asleep. But, that was good, because while I slept I felt good. I will finish "Austenland" in a day or two, and then I can start reading my October Book Choice Of The Month: (Drum Roll)

"Bad Dogs Have More Fun."

"Bad Dogs Have More Fun" is an unforgettable collection of more than seventy-five newspaper articles from The Philadelphia Inquirer written by former columnist John Grogan.

Combining humor, wit, poignancy, and affection, these columns provide insight into the intriguing and wonderful world we live in. Whether it be writing about animals (from dogs to elephants to geese!) powerful and moving comments about his own and other families, trenchant comments on life's foibles and farces, or his interviews and interactions with people who are memorable and unusual in their own right, John Grogan makes us laugh--he makes us cry--he makes us think..... So says the book cover..... I am looking forward to reading this, I need something happy and fun to read, being that winter is just around the corner.

Just in case anyone doesn't know who John Grogan is, he was the author of "Marley And Me." If you haven't read that book or seen the movie you are in for a treat. It was a fun book to read, and the movie was fun too, but I would recommend reading the book, before viewing the movie. Oh well, I guess I am a bit late for that advice!

Happy Reading everyone. What is your book choice for the month of October?

  1. I am glad you answered my question. When you said the authors name I thought he was the one that wrote Marley and Me. I did see that book at the store. If you lived near me I bet I would run into you at the bookstore often Ann! Have a great day!

  2. Sounds a good read. I noticed the Marley & Me film was showing when we flew to Rhodes in May. I decided to read and not to watch it as I hate sad endings. However I kept looking up every now and again and yes, I was in tears at the end even though I wasn't really watching it!
