"Flossie's Mountain"

A clean American mail order bride historical western short story romance.
This historical, inspirational Western romance much-loved series is about empowered women who turn around their hopeless circumstances in this mid-18th century tale of the old West, with strong faith and discover genuine men and true love.
Meet Flossie, an orphan who has always longed for that sense of belonging. It wasn't like she didn't have acquaintances; she did, but she’s never had a beau, and her prospects of finding one were not encouraging. In the last couple of years, Flossie had moved from Cortez southern Texas, and Arkansas, with money she earned at doing menial jobs. In all her wandering, she had never found one gentleman.
Was there a man out there for her?
Would taking a chance at being a mail order bride give her what she’s longing for?
Why does Nick Richardson from Durango, not act like her fiance?
What mysterious secret lies in Nick’s dealings with her?
Hop into Nick’s supply train and ride along with Flossie’s trip to Durango in search for a man that she’s hoping to find all of her life, the one that’s meant to care for her and love her.
"This is a story about tragedy, fear, faith, triumph and true love."
My Thoughts...
Having just read two Agatha Christie mysteries, I needed something to read that wouldn't tax my brain to much. Therefore, I chose this short story about a Mail-Order Bride, Flossie.

Lately I've been enjoying some of these Historical Western Novel, some are about Mail-Order Brides. I just love going back in time and reading how things were in the Pioneer Days, when families were moving West to start a new life in the West.

It was a nice trip back in time hopping on the supply wagon with Nick and Flossie in 1888 as they headed up the mountain to deliver supplies to the men and women in the mining town of Silverman, Colorado. It helped us see the challenges the old pioneers had as they traveled west to start a new life in the mid-west. It was a harrowing little journey, up the mountain!

All-in-all it was an enjoyable little story, some sad times and some good times along the way. I enjoyed it enough to award it 3"Wagon Wheel" stars.

This book is part of my Kindle Library
