"Teaser Tuesdays"

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB at  Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following...

Grab your current read.
Open to a random page.
Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page.
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others.)
Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

The book I am 'currently' reading is "Bluebonnets for Elly" by Sandra Nachlinger.

I'm reading it on my Kindle  the teaser is 20% into the story. And now onto the Teaser...

She stepped from behind the trees.

"Hi," Derek said. As he strode closer, he removed his sunglasses and hooked them at the neck of his shirt. "I stopped by to see how Mrs. M was doing and then I heard a crash. Are you okay?"

First Chapter, First Paragraph is hosted by Diane at Bibliophile By The Sea.

If I can just make it to the gate, no one will suspect.

Elly pulled the yellow plastic hood over her head and tucked in a stray red curl. Her feet planted on the golf car's floorboard, she turned the key, shifted the cart into forward, and floored the accelerator. With a look over her shoulder, she sped out of the carport and onto Bluebonnet Lane.

What would you do, would you keep reading, "Bluebonnets for Elly"?   (My Review)

    1. I'm glad you like the cover. I'll pass that along to Dawne Dominique, the artist from Sweet Cravings Publishing who designed it.
