"Musing Mondays"

Some weeks MizB's musing suggests we talk about anything book related my question this week is an old one, but nevertheless, once in awhile I like to review how my reading is going for the year so on to the question…
Do you have a reading goal for the year, such as __ books? Why or why not?
I really don't have a goal for how many books I read, because to often real life interferes with my reading schedule. But, I usually try to read at least one book a week. I keep a book journal to keep track of my reading. You can find my book journal at my "Book Lover's Journal" blog. I post my reviews of each book I read on that blog.
Also, on my sidebar of my "Book Lover's Journal" I have a list of all the books I've read so far this year. So far this year I've read 110 books. So according to that count, I must read more than one book a week.
Do you have a reading goal for the year?

  1. This year was my first to have an official reading goal, via Goodreads (for 200 books). And so far, I've finished 195, so I think having a goal has increased my numbers.

But I don't enjoy reading as much when I'm focused on numbers...so I won't be doing this again.

I do keep track of what I've read.

  2. I usually sign up on Goodreads with a goal. This year I am right on track with 200 books. I don't review every book I read on my blog but all on Goodreads.

  3. Gigi Ann, you have read so many books this past year! Hopefully, you have enjoyed the majority of them. I don't have any hard and fast reading goals, except to read in a thoughtful manner.
