"V" Is For Vengeance" My Thoughts

Private detective Kinsey Millhone feels a bit out of place in Nordstrom’s lingerie department, but she’s entirely in her element when she puts a stop to a brazen shoplifting spree. For her trouble she nearly gets run over in the parking lot by one of the fleeing thieves—and later learns that the one who didn’t get away has been found dead in an apparent suicide. But Audrey Vance’s grieving fiancé suspects murder and hires Kinsey to investigate—in a case that will reveal a big story behind a small crime, and lead her into a web that connects a shadowy “private banker,” an angry trophy wife, a spoiled kid with a spiraling addiction, and a brutal killer without a conscience…

My Thoughts...
I think I have read all of Sue Grafton's ABC series featuring Kinsey Millhone PI. Some of the books I've found were better than others, but I've always found them all fun reading, including this one.
My only complaint with this book...there was a lot of unnecessary descriptions of Rosie's nasty food at the restaurant Kinsey frequents, made me want to toss my cookies! In the first few books Rosies cooking was kind of funny, but now it is just as dull as ditch-water, what I call unnecessary filler. Another thing...Do we even need to know every time Kinsey eats, what she eats, and each time she goes to the bathroom? I know it is to make her more human, but it also gets a bit bromidic. Otherwise, I did find this book most interesting and fun to read.
This book is a part of my personal library. I've had this book on my bookshelf for a few months then I noticed that "W" Is For Wasted" pub. date it September 10, 2013, therefore, I thought I better get the "V" book read. Now I'm looking forward to Sue's new book in September.  Because I liked this book I am awarding it 4****

  3. I thought this was going to be a series I would enjoy but unfortunately A just didn't hold my attention enough to move on.
