"Musing Mondays" Audio Books

MusingMondays5Musing Mondays at Should Be Reading asks you to muse about one of the following each week…
• Describe one of your reading habits.
• Tell us what book(s) you recently bought for yourself or someone else, and why you chose that/those book(s).
• Tell us what you’re reading right now — what you think of it, so far; why you chose it; what you are (or, aren’t) enjoying it.
• Do you have a bookish rant? Something about books or reading (or the industry) that gets your ire up? Share it with us!
• Instead of the above questions, maybe you just want to ramble on about something else pertaining to books — let’s hear it, then!
Yes this is me in my messy "Reading Corner" today. I mentioned last week that a friend asked me to crochet her a sage colored afghan, so I combined my love of crocheting with my love of reading. I will be listening to audio books this week. Notice the little TV to your left, it plays DVDs and CDs, so it comes in very handy when listening to my books. I usually don't listen to books, even though I have quite a few, and I found out a week or two ago that the KindleFire I bought in December also reads the books to me if I prefer. Even though I prefer reading to listening, it will be a nice change of pace for the next week or two to get to enjoy my crocheting and as the saying goes "Kill two birds with one stone" in the fact that I don't have to give up my reading.
Do you listen to audio books or do you prefer to read the books?

  1. I don't listen to audio...mainly because it's faster to read; but I think it would be great if you're working on a project like your afghan.

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

  4. I've never listened to an audio book, not for any particular reason. I have a feeling I wouldn't be able to follow along very good, though....my mind tends to wander if I'm not focused enough! :)
You're so talented! My mom and older sister taught me crocheting and knitting, but I never got the hang of it. My "straight" lines would go all wiggly-wobbly! Good thing I figured how ONE thing I'm kind of good at: writing! Have a wonderful day!

  6. Your reading corner is awesome. I love to knit and listen to audiobooks. I cannot get a handle on crochet, I can do mega complicated lace knitting but hand me a hook and I'm lost lol x

  7. You look so comfy Ann. I do like audio books (in the car or walking) and print books the rest of the time.

  8. I've never listened to an audio book before myself. I should try it so I can read and crochet at the same time. The ripple afghan looks very pretty, I love the color!
