"Musing Mondays"

This week’s musing — courtesy ofhttp://ladywithbooks.wordpress.com– asks…
Do you have a favorite series? Do you have a favorite book out of that series?
I have a few favorite series, the first one  I will mention is Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove series. It is a completed series and I enjoyed all 12 books in this series.
Another series I've enjoyed reading is Sue Grafton's ABC series. This V is for Vengeance is the latest in her series. I haven't read it yet, so I have something to look forward to this winter.
I would have to say my favorite book of all these series would be the first book I read, because after reading the first books I kept coming back for more.
When I am in the mood for a bit of humor and mystery and suspense I grab one of Janet Evanovich"s number series book off the old shelf and set back and have a fun old time for a day or two. I really don't know what number she is on by now, but I haven't read Fearless Fourteen yet.
The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series, by Alexander McCall Smith was a little gem I found which was a pleasant  surprise. It is a delightful little series set in Botswana featuring Mma Ramotswe as the head lady of the Ladies' Detective Agency.
"Nothing will dim the charm of McCall Smith's series, with its portraits of goodness, its sorrow over greed and its profound love of Africa." Amanda Craig, Independent.
This series was made into a TV series that HBO featured two or three years ago for six weeks. I called Dish network and asked them if I could have HBO for six weeks and they said sure. It turned out they were running a special for HBO and they allowed me to have it for free. Thank you Dish Network.

  1. Wow, we're on the same wave length...I also loved Cedar Cove, Grafton's books, and Evanovich.

I haven't read very many of the Stephanie Plums, however. Something to look forward to....

  2. Grafton's and Evanovich's are two series that I used to read, but for me they ran their course some time ago.

But I found a few more... My Muse
