"My Dear Charlotte" Review

"My Dear Charlotte" is a mystery story set in the early 1800's in the form of letters. It interweaves letters to Charlotte with letters written by Jane Austen to her sister Cassandra Austen. Of course you don't have to love Jane Austen to enjoy this book. It is a very "Cozy" murder mystery, coupled with a romance.

"My Dear Charlotte" gives you in addition to mystery and romance, a portrait of the world of the English gentry in the early 1800's. It's the social world at home that is central, however, with its balls, visits, courtships, gossip, and of course murder, within that apparently civilized society, it made for an interesting read.

I must say I rather enjoyed this charming book and awarded it 4 stars.
