"Teaser Tuesdays"

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB oShould Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This is a book I've put off reading for a few months, so pulled it off the bookshelf to read this week. It is "Emily and Einstein" by Linda Francis Lee.
My name is Emily Barlow, and I had never been good at sensing trouble. I didn't need to be. I made lists, mapped out plans, then moved forward with a calm certainty that everything would work out. (HC pg. 11)

  4. Here's mine: I felt Jesse had a mild affection for me since I'd exercised some mighty creative financing to keep their farm afloat. They'd lost mony three of the last five years, and I'd found a means to stave off liquidation each time.
This is from a new book, Lowcountry Bribe, by C. Hope Clark, who is a blog buddy! It can be found on Amazon, and I'm sure other "usual" places. I haven't gotten very far in it yet, but it's very good!
