"Finishing the Series Reading Challenge"

Here are the guidelines:

It's that time of year where we finally admit to our addictions and try to do something about them. Some of us need to admit we have a bit of a problem. Some of us need to admit we have a huge problem. Some of us just really want to enjoy each other's pain and humiliation while completing challenges. (That's why CMash does this... so she can spend the year laughing uproariously at my futile attempts to cut back.)

Cheryl from CMash Loves to Read and Gina from Hott Books are two such people. They each can stand proudly and say,

I am a Reading Challenge Addict.

So they are challenging each of  us, so we can also say that we are also a Reading Challenge Addict.

They'll be giving away prizes and recognizing those who are meeting their own expectations by completing the challenges they've entered.

How addicted are you?

  • Easy as Pie: 1-5 Challenges (Entered & Completed)
  • On the Roof: 6-10 Challenges (Entered & Completed)

We're not making this a difficult challenge, actually, it's going to be very simple!

  2. Write a starting post joining the challenge and outlining your challenges.
  3. Track all of your challenge accomplishments - good & bad.

I am going to aim for "Easy as Pie."  If you want to see what challenges I am entering in, you can view them to the right on my sidebar.

Yvonne at Socrates' Book Reviews, had this to say: "Okay, I wasn't going to be hosting anymore reading challenges (then again I wasn't going to be joining anymore either and that's not happening - LOL), but I broke down and started this one. I searched all over and didn't see one for this yet so I'm going to start it myself."

It's a challenge for all those series books you started at some point and haven't finished. I know I'll start a series and read the first book, then get distracted with other books and never get back to the series. Before I know it, the series has 10 books - I get overwhelmed and don't go back to it. Now, I want to finish a couple.

Here are the rules guidelines.

1) All books that are part of a continuing series qualify (i.e. Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove, Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum, James Patterson's Alex Cross, etc. etc.)

2) It doesn't matter if you have 1 or 10 books in a series to complete it, it qualifies (i.e. if you only need to read one more Sookie Stackhouse book to complete the goal, that's fine) The goal is to complete a series from wherever you are up to until the last published book.

3) The qualification period is January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2012. Books must be read during this time frame to count.

4) Take the button above and post about it. Use the Mr. Linky below to sign up, but make sure you link it directly to your post about this challenge.

5) If you don't have a blog, that's fine. Just leave a comment to sign up and tell us what you are reading.

6) Any format of book counts - audio, ebook, etc.

7) You should choose the series you want to finish before the challenge begins, but it isn't necessary. It's fine to change series during the year - as long as you complete whichever series it is.

8) Choose a level....

Level 1 - Complete 1 series.
Level 2 - Complete 2 series.
Level 3 - Complete 3 or more series.

Since I have 2 series (well I have more than 2) I want to read and finish, I will be trying Level 2 - Complete 2 series.
The series are....
"A Maternal Instincts Mystery Series" by Diana Orgain
1. Bundle of TROUBLE (Book 1) 1/10/12
2. Motherhood is MURDER (Book 2) 1/20/12
3. Formula for MURDER (Book 3) 3/23/12

"Nebraska Series (Historical Romances") by Ruth Ann Nordin
1. A Bride for Tom, by Ruth Ann Nordin (Book 1) 3/11/12
2. A Husband for Margaret, by Ruth Ann Nordin (Book 2) 3/12/12
3. Eye of the Beholder, by Ruth Ann Nordin (Book) 3) 3/14/12

  1. Welcome to the challenge!

    Have fun with it!

  2. Wow! I am seriously reading challenge challenged! But, if I can finish up a few of the series I started way back when, then I'll join in. Great button!

  3. lol I used to be a challenge addict, then I stopped myself.
Yvonne's series challenge sounds like fun too.
    Happy reading :)

  4. Yvonne's cozy challenge is perfect for us. Have fun with it and all the other challenges you have joined. Happy reading in 2012.
