"Teaser Tuesdays"

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week I am enjoying reading "4:50 From Paddington," by Agatha Christie.  I am also reading this mystery for my "Vintage Mystery Reading Challenge." I always learn so many new words when I read one of Ms. Christie's books.

"The powers that be! All the silly pettifogging rules and regulations that hamper us all nowadays. The interesting thing is there's always a way round them if you're smart enough to find it. And you're smart. Come now, does the idea appeal to you?"

  3. I have only read one Agatha Christie book and I wasn't smart enough to know who did it! But that is the best kind of mystery!

  6. Pettifogging - had to look up that one! I haven't read Agatha Christie in years, but your teaser made me wonder if it isn't time to dust off her books.

  7. Great teaser! Almost sounds like Dickens more than Christie. This is one I haven't read, but it's definitely on my TBR list.
