"Musing Mondays"

This week’s musing hosted by Miz B at Should Be Reading asks…
Describe the last time you were stumped for something to read, and you took measures to remedy that — either by going to the bookstore, the library, or shopping elsewhere. What book did you choose? Did it get you out of your slump?
I don't often get in a reading slump. However, if I feel myself in a slump, I find it is usually when I am reading a book that is a bit on the boring side, at least to me. Sometimes, I just put the book aside, never to be read by me again. Other times, if the book is a newer book that the library doesn't have, I will donate it to the library. I always feel there is probably someone who will like the book, even though it isn't my cup of tea. I have many books I haven't read yet, so I just pull another one off my bookshelf and start reading. Once in awhile, I just take a few days off from reading, and find in a few days I am as good as new, and ready to start reading something again. Something that always lifts my spirits is a visit to my favorite bookstore, B&N.

How about you, what do you do if you get in a reading slump?

  2. I am in a slump now after getting to books I don't want to read. The good thing is they were from the library.

  3. Just being around books works but then it doesn't. Contradiction???

  4. Donating books you didn't enjoy to the library is a great idea! I may have to look into that. It might be a good way to get rid of some of the books that I've either read, or will never get around to reading.

Stopping in for Musing Mondays and am a new follower. Have a lovely week!
