"Booking Through Thursday"

btt button
Do you ever feel like you’re in a reading rut? That you don’t read enough variety? That you need to branch out, spread your literary wings and explore other genres, flavors, styles?
After thinking about this question, I don't think I'm in a rut. After all my years of reading, I find that there are just some genres I don't like, therefore I don't read them. I don't think that puts me in a rut. It just says, I'm choosy about what I read.
How about you, are you in a rut?

  1. At one time I used to get in rut of just reading only one author never reading anything else. I did that with V.C. Andrews, Danielle Steel, Jackie Collins and I can't even remember anymore... I read so much stuff now that I never thought I would read.

  2. I guess I am sort of in a rut. But like you, I know what I like and tend to stick with it. And after all these years, I don't intend to change!

  3. I do enjoy certain genres and authors more than others, and at my age, feel that it's perfectly fine to be choosy! LOL

  6. I think we have to be choosy in order to not get in a rut actually. When I try genres outside of my norm it sometimes creats a reading rut.

  8. I've been through many phases but I wouldn't call it getting stuck in a rut.

  10. I read your comment on Sally's blog, and I could have written it, we agree so closely! What you said about life being too short of waste time reading stuff you don't like...Amen! We were forced to read books in school. We're not getting tested over what we're reading now, so enjoy! :)
