Musing Mondays (Jan.17)

This week’s musing asks…
Do you prefer deep, intellectual, “meaty” books… or light, “fluffy” books? Why? Give us an example of your preferred type of book. ;)

My reading leans toward the light, "fluffy" books. I do a lot of serious reading throughout the week, that I don't blog about. My reading for entertainment and recreation I want light, and fluffy. When I sit down to relax and read, I want to be entertained, not stressed out. I call it giving the brain a break.
Some of my preferred books to read are light romance, cozy mysteries, I love books about pets, biographies or memoirs of famous people.
Three books I read in 2010 about pets, and thoroughly enjoyed were, Dewey, The Library Cat, Katie, Up and Down the Hall, and Cleo, the Cat. These three books were all about real pets and how they helped family and friends. I enjoyed all three.
A cozy mystery I read in 2010 was Murder Past Due, by Miranda James. A light romance book I enjoyed in 2010 was Somewhere Along the Way, by Jodi Thomas, just to name a few, and a memoir from 2010, was Julie Andrews book Home.
                  What is your preferred reading?

  1. I can NOT read books about animals, especially if anything bad happens to them. People..not problem. But animals, NO! ;-)
I like to stay right in the middle, not too meaty and not too fluffy. Yes, it should be fun to read (serial killers are fun, right?), but I still need a bit of a challenge.

  3. It depends on my mood, sometimes I want to read something light and fluffy, other times I want to read something more serious.
I've heard only good things about the Dewey book.

  6. I like a nice balance. I don't like heavy, but I like meaty...I don't like pointless, but I like fluffy. Check out my answer for this weeks Monday Musing.

  8. I like fluffy and light but no story book romance for me but if it is about love in memoirs ok. When we lived in the village we had lots of retired military and one year I read all the books on world war II now that was heavy.
    I loved Dewey
