"Teaser Tuesdays" December 28, 2010

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along!
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page.  Being careful not to share a spoiler.
I will be reading "Behold, Here's Poison" by Georgette Heyer. This is a mystery. I've never read any of the author's books, so look forward to meeting a new author.

Mrs. Rumbold, beside whom Owen had seated himself, said in a confidential voice: "It is kind of horrid, isn't it? I mean, knowing poor Mr. Matthews, and all."

Owen looked round at her with the instinctive distrust of a shy man accosted by a stranger, and said: "Quite," in a stiff voice.

  1. I never read anything by this author either, but I've heard good things. The teaser has my attention!

  2. I love Heyer's romances but haven't tried her mysteries. I hope you are enjoying it. I have two teasers this week. My YA teaser is from Anna and the French Kiss and my adult teaser is from The Secret History of the Pink Carnation. I guess I was in a mood for romance. Happy reading!
