"Musing Mondays" & "Celebrating.....What?

This week’s musing is going to be a bit simpler…
What are you currently reading? Would you recommend it to others? Is it part of a series (if so, which one)? What are you thinking about it? What book(s) would you compare it to, if any?
I am currently reading, "Beachcombers" by Nancy Thayer. I really haven't gotten very far in the book, but, all the reviews I've read about it seem to be encouraging, and are recommending it as a fun summer read.  As far as I know it is not one of a series. So far I am enjoying it. I think I would compare it to books written by Barbara Delinksky, and Kristin Hannah.  What are you reading this week?
                      "Celebrating .... What?

This is a picture of my husband and I on our wedding day, July 3rd, 1958. That's right we have been married 52 years. Therefore, we spend the week-end celebrating our anniversary.

To celebrate we went to the Mall and had a nice lunch. (You may be a redneck if you take your wife to the Food Court at the Mall for your anniversary meal.)  I guess that explains it all, we are a couple of rednecks!

We always buy our own presents, after this many years, what can you buy someone? Anyway, I headed for Barnes and Noble and picked up six books for my present. He headed to Sears and looked I don't think he bought himself anything.

One of the books I picked up was "A Vintage Affair." I spent most of the week-end reading the book. It was a nice fun book to read.  I found it very enjoyable,

Our little town was a bit busy on Saturday with all their celebrating, I did take the time to set in the backyard and watch the fireworks Saturday evening.  That about sums up my week-end.

What did you read this week-end?

  1. Happy Anniversary!!! WOW...52 years!!! What is your secret? We will be celebrating 30 in April. Will also be empty nesters next month and hoping it will be like when we didn't have children. Any tips on that?

  3. Happy Anniversary! And I thought my husband and I were doing good with our forty years of wedded bliss! But you've got us beat by a few years. Glad you had a nice weekend. Did you pretend that the fireworks were in honor of your anniversary? I would!
