"Musing Mondays"

This is a cute little meme hosted by Should Be Reading.

Who in your family (both immediate & extended) are readers, and who are not?

Well for starters I love to read, and now that I am retired, I get to do my favorite pass time as often as I like. My husband is not a reader of books, but he reads a lot of other more important things.

My mother, Carrie, liked to read a good book, now and again. But, she was a very busy woman, raising a family of eight children. However, she always encouraged me to read when I was younger. Actually, in my younger days, reading was called our entertainment. I guess you could say, our TV was in our head.

My daughters Rhonda and Jill  both enjoy reading, when they can fit it into their busy schedules. Rhonda's 8 year old daughter, Mercedez, my granddaughter, loves to read. She reads books way past her age level. I know because I was her book club of the month, for a while. She also read many of the books to her momma, Rhonda.

I have three sisters that I know of that like reading books.  Margy, my oldest sister loves to read, Lavern, a few years older than me was a reader, she seemed to have a book in her hand all the time. And my sister, Mary, also a few years older than me loves to read as well. And her husband, my brother-in-law, Leroy, was a reader.  I also have a sister-in-law, Lavona, who, like Lavern, seems to have a book handy, reading away the days just like me.  My daughter-in-law, Jody, also likes reading, when she can fit it into her busy schedule.

That was a thinking meme, never gave it a thought before, about who in my family likes reading. So I guess reading is in my genetic make up.
